Microsoft is collaborating with news organizations to introduce AI technology to enhance news coverage. Semafor, a news startup, will create “Signals,” sponsored by Microsoft, to highlight breaking news and analysis. Journalists will write the articles, with AI serving as a research tool to locate breaking event reports promptly.

Noreen Gillespie, a former AP journalist now with Microsoft, emphasized the importance of journalists embracing these AI tools to stay relevant in the industry. Microsoft also revealed partnerships with journalism organizations to assist newsrooms and journalists in utilizing AI to expand audiences and streamline newsroom tasks.
