Southwest Credit Cards Offer Free Companion Pass as Bonus
From Time Magazine:
Southwest Airlines is offering a great new benefit with their credit cards: a year-long pass that lets you bring along a travel buddy on flights at no cost outside of taxes and fees. The special flight pass can be used through Feb. 28, 2025, and it’s available with the new introductory offer that includes 30,000 points with one of three credit cards.
The 30,000 point bonus is a standard offer for airline credit cards. However, what sets the Southwest cards apart is the Companion Pass®, a major benefit within the Southwest Rapid Rewards® program. The pass allows you to get a second ticket for one friend or family member any time you purchase a Southwest ticket.
The Southwest Companion Pass® is difficult to obtain, usually requiring 100 Southwest flights or earning 135,000 points. But now, the Companion Pass® is an excellent and attainable feature for customers. With the new credit card offer, it’s easier than ever to enjoy this benefit, which lasts until Feb. 28, 2025.
Three Southwest Airlines credit cards are now offering the Companion Pass®. The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card comes with the least expensive annual fee of the trio. The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card offers slightly better benefits, while the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card is the most premium option, offering the highest anniversary bonus and additional perks.
The Companion Pass® lasts until Feb. 28, 2025, and the offer is currently available for new applicants. If you love to travel with a companion and choose Southwest Airlines, this new offer is worth considering.
