Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ: RIVN) shared a photograph of a dashboard display, leading many to believe it was a preview of the upcoming R2 electric vehicle. However, it was revealed that the picture was actually of an existing R1T electric truck at Yosemite National Park. This caused excitement for the R2, set to be unveiled on March 7, with a more compact and lower-priced model expected to be released in 2026. The R2 aims to compete with Tesla’s limited options at $45,000 to $50,000. Rivian’s current vehicles, the R1T truck, and R1S SUV are priced over $70,000.
