Coppernico Metals Inc. has started a field exploration program at the Nioc and Antapampa targets in Peru to refine targets for future drilling. The program includes soil geochemistry, channel sampling, and geological mapping to identify new mineralized zones and drill ready targets.
At the Nioc target area, surface mapping reveals a garnet-magnetite skarn domain with visible copper oxides and trace sulphides. Recent channel sampling outlined multiple continuous copper-gold intervals, with the longest being 93.5m of 0.87% Cu, 0.19g/t Au, and 0.60g/t Ag.
The Nioc target area also shows a prominent induced polarization chargeability anomaly aligned with surface copper-gold occurrences, indicating potential significant sulfide mineralization at depth. The Antapampa target, located near Nioc, is an iron skarn occurrence under evaluation for mineralization style and footprint.
Coppernico plans to conduct soil grid coverage, channel sampling, and rock sampling at Nioc and Antapampa to refine exploration vectors. The team aims to rank potential drill testing targets based on surface grades, alteration intensity, and IP features that coincide. Geophysical surveys may provide further resolution for future exploration efforts.
Ivan Bebek, Chair and CEO of Coppernico, highlighted the exceptional surface mineralization at Nioc and the significant potential at the nearby Antapampa target. The company is working to strengthen relationships with the local community, providing local employment and assisting in obtaining permits for future drilling.
