Super Bowl LVIII Bet Pays Out $1 Million If This Unique, First-Time Event Occurs

From Nasdaq:

Millions will be gambled on Super Bowl LVIII, including a bet for the Kansas City Chiefs to score exactly two points. The odds are 10,000 to 1, and the payout would be $1 million if the bet hits. Safeties are rare, with only nine in Super Bowl history. The lowest point total in a Super Bowl was three points, scored by the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams in previous games.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who averaged 21.8 points per game in the regular season, will face the San Francisco 49ers, who held opponents to 17.5 points per game. The bettor stands to win $1 million if the Kansas City Chiefs score two points in Super Bowl LVIII, an unlikely outcome, especially considering the Chiefs’ history and low-scoring games for the team.

According to Super Bowl history, no team has ever scored exactly two points. This makes the bet even more unlikely, with only 11 teams scoring under 10 points in the 57 Super Bowls played. The Kansas City Chiefs have been held to single digits in only two games featuring quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and they are not likely to score exactly two points in Super Bowl LVIII.

Super Bowl LVIII will air on Sunday, Feb. 11, on CBS and Nickelodeon. The 49ers are favored by two points, and the over/under is set at 47.5 points for the two teams combined. The odds of a safety being scored are +1,000, while the 49ers’ odds of scoring a safety are +2,200.
