Volvo AB plans to invest 700 million SEK in Eskilstuna, Sweden for a new crawler excavator assembly factory, part of a larger 2.5 billion Swedish Kroner investment by Volvo Construction Equipment. The facility will produce 3500 machines annually, focusing on electric and internal combustion engine models in the 14 to 50-tonne size range. This move aims to meet European customer demand, increase capacity and flexibility, and reduce carbon emissions. The company’s shares closed 3.66% higher at $28.35 in the OTC Market.
