Packaging company Vitrapack has expanded its flexographic printing capacity with a new 10-colour BOBST EXPERT CI press in Belgium, aiming to boost productivity and reduce material waste. The press joins existing BOBST equipment at the site, all fitted with smartGPS technology for quality and efficiency.
Vitrapack’s co-owner Jan Laeremans praised BOBST’s smartGPS technology for delivering high quality with less downtime, leading to the decision to install another BOBST press. The newly installed EXPERT CI press offers a wider specification with a 25% higher capacity, including features like full surface matrix intercolour drying.
Belgium-based Vitrapack, operating from a 17,000 m² facility with 100 employees, reported a turnover of €32m in 2024. The company supplies flexible packaging to major food and non-food brands in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. Vitrapack has a long-standing collaboration with BOBST focused on automation and waste reduction.
Vitrapack’s investment in advanced automation, process control, and consultancy services has helped the company progress its waste-reduction goals, including lowering CO₂ emissions and improving set-up times. The company plans to replace one of its older flexo presses with another BOBST machine as part of its ongoing investment plans.
