‘Were There Any Half-Decent Ads?’ Asks Elon Musk While Tesla Bull Calls EV Giant’s No-Show At Super Bowl ‘Short-Term Thinking’ (UPDATED)

From Nasdaq:

Tesla received criticism for not advertising during the Super Bowl LVIII. Analyst Gary Black argued that, to justify the $7 million cost of a 30-second ad, Tesla would need to sell 875 additional cars. Some have supported Tesla’s absence, stating the brand is already well-known, while others argue that advertising leads to increased popularity, as seen with rival electric vehicle manufacturers.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, reacted to the ads at the Super Bowl, describing them as “incredibly cheesy and stupid.” He asked if there were any “half-decent ads” after noting the lack of focus on the product. With the company’s strong performance, ending Friday’s session up 2.12% at $193.57, the impact of missing out on Super Bowl advertising remains to be seen on the company’s future performance.
