NVIDIA CEO: Every Country Needs Sovereign AI

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the importance of sovereign AI at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, stating that each country should own the production of their own intelligence. The UAE’s Minister of AI, Omar Al Olama, agreed and highlighted their aggressive movement toward this vision. PwC projects a $320 billion boost to the Middle East’s economy from AI by 2030.
Huang urged leaders not to be mystified by AI, emphasizing its potential for taking directions from ordinary humans. He also discussed the importance of building infrastructure for AI, stating that it is not costly. Huang also highlighted the significant democratization of AI that has occurred through NVIDIA’s GPU platform.
Huang declared that the job of the computing industry is to create technologies that do not require programming and that the programming language is human. He also pointed out that everyone in the world is now a programmer. Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, announced an agreement to build a green data center with NVIDIA, showcasing the strong regional momentum behind AI.
In addition to his fireside chat, the World Governments Summit featured panels on smart mobility, sustainable development, and more. Huang and Al Olama also took the stage at the ‘Get Inspired’ ecosystem event, featuring 280 attendees including developers and startups organized by the UAE’s AI Office.
