BAE Systems has been awarded a $22 million contract by the U.S. Navy to produce missile canisters for the Mk 41 Vertical Launching Systems, with a potential total value of $317 million. This contract follows a previous award of $738 million for similar canisters last July. BAE Systems will also continue to manufacture Mk 29 missile canisters critical for storing, shipping, and launching missiles on U.S. Navy and allied ships. The company’s expertise in missile launch canisters for the U.S. Navy has been highlighted through these contract awards. Vice President Brent Butcher emphasized the importance of missile canisters in providing sailors with the necessary capabilities to deter threats worldwide.
