Corn futures are down by 2 cents in the front months on Monday, with the national average cash corn price at $3.86. USDA reports 1.63 MMT of corn export shipments last week, down 20.98% from the week prior but up 61.78% from last year. Brazil’s first corn crop is 93% planted in the center south region, trailing last year’s pace.

USDA’s Grain Crushing report shows 463.44 million bushels of corn used in ethanol production in August, a 1.2% increase from July but down 3.36% from last year. Dec 25 Corn is at $4.23 1/2, Nearby Cash is at $3.86 1/1, Mar 26 Corn is at $4.37, and May 26 Corn is at $4.44 1/2.
