Alibaba Group has launched its first smart glasses, the Quark S1, featuring translucent displays, cameras, and bone conduction microphones, priced at 3,799 yuan. A lower-cost model, Quark G1, priced at 1,899 yuan, is also available. Both models run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 platform and are positioned as competitors to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses in China.
The smart glasses are part of Alibaba’s shift towards an AI-first business model. The S1 is currently available in China through various online and retail outlets, with international versions expected next year. The device is powered by Alibaba’s Qwen AI models and is designed to overlay contextual information onto the user’s field of vision.
