FedEx is laying off 856 employees in Coppell, Texas, as it closes a logistics facility due to a major customer switch to another provider. Layoffs begin in January and are expected to be finalized by April 29, 2026.

The company will offer job placement assistance, relocation aid, or severance to affected employees. Some workers may be eligible for other roles within FedEx. This comes after previous job cuts in North Texas, attributed to various industry pressures.

The Coppell facility closure is part of a wave of job cuts in the logistics and manufacturing sector nationwide, impacted by trade policies, facility closures, EV-market slowdowns, and changing consumer demand. FedEx (NYSE: FDX) provides a range of transportation, e-commerce, and business services globally.
