Sensormatic Solutions, a retail solutions portfolio of Johnson Controls, reported a 2.1% decrease in Black Friday in-store traffic in 2025 compared to 2024. However, the week of Black Friday saw a 56.7% increase in shopper visits compared to the previous week, with Black Friday itself experiencing a 248.9% surge in traffic from the previous Friday.

Data from ShopperTrak revealed that the peak browsing period on Black Friday was in the early afternoon, with the highest in-store traffic occurring between 2 and 4 p.m. The busiest hour for retailers was at 3 p.m., in line with previous shopping patterns.
