Khaite, a New York designer brand, is partnering with Yagi Tsusho Ltd. to launch Khaite Japan Corp., marking a strategic move into the Japanese market. Yagi Tsusho will introduce Khaite to Japan for the fall season next year, leveraging its local expertise and relationships.

Brigitte Kleine, CEO of Khaite, views Japan as a natural progression for the brand. Yagi Tsusho, founded in 1946, recognizes Khaite as a promising fashion brand and will utilize its global presence to boost Khaite’s presence in Japan.

Creative director Catherine Holstein founded Khaite in 2016, quickly gaining recognition and awards. Holstein won the CFDA’s American Womenswear Designer of the Year award in both 2022 and 2023. Khaite recently sold a stake to New York equity firm Stripes, led by Tory Burch’s former president.
