Fast casual gourmet kebab chain German Doner Kebab (GDK) plans to open its first outlet in India in early 2026. CEO Simon Wallis aims for £1bn in global sales by 2030, targeting India’s growing middle class and protein consumption. GDK, backed by True, will focus on lamb in India and aims to expand to 900 outlets worldwide. GDK expects 2025 revenues to exceed £183m, amid competition from brands like Little Caesars and Papa John’s International in India. Wallis has no current plans for a New York Stock Exchange listing, focusing on reaching the sales target.
