AXA XL has appointed Sylvain Eyraud as the next country manager for Italy, starting January 1, 2026. Eyraud brings over 15 years of insurance experience, previously serving in various roles at AXA. He will focus on driving business growth and innovation in Italy. In a separate move, AXA acquired a 51% stake in Italy-based Prima for €500m, aiming to boost its presence in the motor insurance segment. Additionally, AXA XL recently appointed Donnacha Smyth as the global chief underwriting officer for casualty, bringing over three decades of industry experience to the role.
