Goldman Sachs announced the acquisition of Innovator Capital Management for $2 billion, boosting their ETF offerings. The deal is set to close in the second quarter of 2026. Innovator manages $28 billion across 159 ETFs, specializing in defined-outcome ETFs. CEO David Solomon sees this as a key move in expanding their investment products.

Goldman Sachs has been focusing on asset and wealth management, with recent deals including a $1 billion investment in T. Rowe Price and acquiring Industry Ventures. The acquisition of Innovator Capital Management is part of their strategy to strengthen their position in the fast-growing active ETF segment. Once the deal is finalized, Innovator’s employees will join Goldman’s asset management division.
