Italian fashion brand Twinset is set to welcome Gabriele Maggio as the new CEO, succeeding Alessandro Varisco. The acquisition of the company by Borletti Group and Quadrivio & Pambianco in June marked a new chapter for Twinset.
Maggio, previously the CEO of Elisabetta Franchi, brings over 25 years of fashion industry experience to Twinset. His tenure at Stella McCartney and Moschino, among others, reflects his strong leadership in the luxury market.
Twinset, known for its knitwear expertise, has expanded into total look collections and attracted a younger demographic with celebrity ambassadors. The brand reported revenues exceeding 200 million euros in 2024, solidifying its position in the affordable luxury market.
Borletti Group, the parent company of Twinset’s new owners, recently invested in True Religion, adding to its portfolio of premium lifestyle brands. The Made in Italy Fund II, which facilitated Twinset’s acquisition, has a history of successful investments in various fashion labels.
Carlyle Group’s acquisition of Twinset in 2012 marked a turning point for the brand, leading to full ownership by 2017. Founded in 1990, Twinset has evolved under different leadership, with the latest CEO transition signaling a new era for the fashion house.
