Gasoline prices in the U.S. have dropped below $3 a gallon, with the national average at $2.83 per gallon, the lowest level since 2021. Prices vary widely by state, with drivers in Oklahoma paying $2.409 compared to $4.560 in California. Diesel prices have also fallen to $3.72 per gallon. Oil prices remain low, with Brent crude at $63.07/bbl and WTI crude at $59.19 per barrel. U.S. oil inventories rose by 2.8 million barrels, but are below the seasonal average, while gasoline and distillate inventories are also below average. However, U.S. energy prices are expected to rise through 2026.
