Tesla has improved in Consumer Reports’ annual auto brand rankings, moving from 18th to 10th overall. The company’s vehicles have become more reliable over time due to remote updates. The Cybertruck is the only model with a below-average score, as Tesla’s older models are still lacking in reliability.
Rivian Automotive moved up to 26th in the rankings but remains near the bottom due to reliability issues. Despite this, Rivian has the highest owner satisfaction among brands. Subaru topped the overall brand list, with Ford’s Lincoln making the biggest jump and Audi dropping 10 spots. Stellantis brands struggled compared to Asian competition.
Ford Motor’s Lincoln was the highest-ranked domestic brand, climbing 17 spots due to reliability. GM’s Cadillac ranked highest at 17th, with Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC following. Hybrid vehicles continue to stand out over other electrified vehicles and traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, with only a few hybrids having below-average reliability scores.
