Foodcare, based in Australia, has agreed to acquire UPAC, a food packaging producer and distributor. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed. UPAC brings over 50 years of experience in printed food packaging, enhancing Foodcare’s ability to provide consultative support for complex packaging needs. This acquisition strengthens Foodcare’s market position.

Founded in 2004, Foodcare specializes in manufacturing and distributing production-critical consumables for Australia’s food and beverage manufacturing sector. The UPAC acquisition follows other mergers in Australia’s packaging industry this year, such as Ball & Doggett’s agreement to buy Impak Films in September 2025. Impak Films will maintain operational independence and employees after the acquisition.

In early 2025, Australian sustainable disposable packaging company BioPak acquired domestic peer Bygreen, the country’s top importer of eco-friendly straws, barware, and wooden tableware. The acquisition trend in Australia’s packaging industry highlights strategic moves to strengthen market positions and enhance product offerings.
