Fiber is also seen as an important attribute in defining a product as healthy, according to 42% of consumers surveyed.
Food and beverage companies like Coca-Cola and Nestlé are launching products with high fiber content to capitalize on the growing interest in gut health. PepsiCo is also exploring consumer interest in fiber, with products like prebiotic cola and Quaker oatmeal already on the market. The emphasis on fiber aligns with current culture, promoting digestive wellness and overall health. Pepsi is focusing on incorporating more fiber into its products as consumers become more health-conscious. The company is moving towards creating products with multiple gut-healthy ingredients following the success of protein-packed items. Consumers like Naomi Aganekwu are intentionally adding fiber to their diets, seeing benefits like feeling full after meals and improved skin. Aganekwu, who lost her father to colon cancer, believes that incorporating fiber can help prevent diseases like colorectal cancer.
