Disney’s “Zootopia 2” follows detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they track a mysterious reptile in Zootopia. The film has joined the billion-dollar club, hitting $1 billion at the global box office. China’s “Ne Zha 2” is the only other film to reach this milestone in 2025.

“Zootopia 2” has made $232.7 million domestically and $753.4 million internationally. The film’s success is particularly notable in China, where it had the highest animated opening for a non-local title and broke records for highest-grossing non-local animated film. PG-rated family films are dominating the box office this year.

The shift towards PG-rated films began in 2024, with PG films now outperforming PG-13 and R-rated films in the U.S. and Canada. Disney is celebrating the global success of “Zootopia 2,” highlighting the film’s ability to bring audiences together for a shared cinematic experience.
