The UK economy contracted in October, with a 0.1% decrease in gross domestic product, missing market expectations. Services output dropped by 0.3%, construction output by 0.6%, but production output rose by 1.1%. In the three months leading up to October, real GDP also fell by 0.1%, with declines in construction and production output.
