Corn prices are down 1 to 1 ½ cents on Tuesday morning, with futures showing weakness on Monday as well. Preliminary open interest was up 8,625 contracts. The national average Cash Corn price is $3.95.
USDA reported corn export shipments at 1.589 MMT during the week ending December 11, with Mexico as the top destination. Marketing year exports for 2025/26 are now 68.74% larger than last year.
Export Sales data showed 1.84 MMT of corn booked in the week of 11/20, a drop from the week prior but still 73.4% larger than the same week last year.
CFTC data revealed managed money flipping to a net short of 10,872 contracts in the week ending on November 25, a move of 48,999 contracts to the short side.
Corn prices closed at $4.39 3/4 for Mar 26, $3.95 for Nearby Cash, $4.47 3/4 for May 26, and $4.53 3/4 for Jul 26.
