Soybean prices slipped slightly on Tuesday, with soybean contracts down 1 to 2 cents. Soymeal futures saw gains of $1.10 to $2.50, while Soy Oil futures dropped 25 to 39 points. Commitment of Traders data showed managed money reducing their net long position by 32,560 contracts. USDA’s Export Sales data revealed soybean sales for the week of December 11 at 2.396 MMT, with China accounting for 1.38 MMT. Soy meal sales exceeded estimates at 616,453 MT, while bean oil sales were on the lower end of estimates at 8,660 MT. Jan 26 Soybeans closed at $10.51 1/2, down 1 3/4 cents.
