From No Film School:

of you— Its visceral. But adding the music just for a shock effect or for emotional stinger take, I think, it would be a mistake. So it’s very difficult to add the music in this film because of how much you want to immerse the audience. At the same time, a lot of great films are made on the backbone of sound and music. You need to control this balance—how to make this auditory impact but not to overdo it. So, it’s a very core subject when you are working with the editor in the midst of the sword, who will be using and how much you will use music and also the pace, as sometimes, reality pacing can be quite slow if you look at a boring video of a factory, or let’s say of a cityscape without any action. So, you have to cut out the unnecessary parts out, and you have to imbue them with something that is more dramatic.”
