Corn futures opened the year with losses, trading down 2 to 4 cents on Friday. The national average Cash Corn price rose 2 ¼ cents to $3.98 1/4. USDA reported a sale of 132,000 MT of corn to South Korea. Payment details for the Farm Bridge Assistance program were released, with corn payments at $44.36/acre. Managed money shifted to a net long position of 55,431 contracts. Corn prices for Mar 26, May 26, and Jul 26 are down between 2 3/4 and 3 1/4 cents.
