Saks Global’s executive chairman Richard Baker has taken over as CEO from Marc Metrick, who is leaving the company after nearly 30 years. Baker will oversee the luxury retailer’s operations and continue as executive chairman. This move comes as the struggling department store aims for transformation and growth.

Lululemon founder Chip Wilson has nominated three independent director candidates for the brand’s board of directors at the 2026 annual meeting of shareholders. Former On Holding AG co-CEO Marc Maurer, known for global brand expansion, is among the nominees. Wilson also proposed annual director elections, citing a low percentage of S&P 500 companies with staggered elections.

Former ESPN CMO Laura Gentile and Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg have left their respective roles. Gentile managed marketing for ESPN and founded espnW, while Hirshberg led Activision with a 500% stock increase and doubled segment profit. Wilson has suggested declassifying the board for annual elections, in line with current governance trends.

Spar Group in Charlotte, NC has promoted Jean Richer to head of North American sales and marketing. With 25+ years of experience in CPG and retail services, Richer will drive revenue growth for Spar’s merchandising and consumer packaged goods clients in the US and Canada. Richer will report to CEO William Linnane in this new role.
