Cryptocurrency exchange Gate introduces AI-powered market analysis tool GateAI in version 8.2.0 and above of the trading app. The tool offers automated summaries and explanations of market data, organizing information based on existing data and flagging uncertainty when conclusions cannot be verified. GateAI is a decision-support tool, not an automated trading system, leaving trade execution to users.

Gate operates as a centralized cryptocurrency exchange, serving over 47 million users globally with spot and derivatives trading. GateAI operates under a usage quota model and may be linked to the platform’s VIP tiers in the future, with access levels varying by user status. Other exchanges like OKX, Coinbase, Binance, and Crypto.com have also integrated AI into their platforms for market monitoring, data analysis, and trading automation.

In a move towards AI-enabled trading, Kraken acquired Capitalise.ai, embedding no-code, natural-language trading automation technology into Kraken Pro. This acquisition reflects a broader trend of crypto-native companies buying AI firms outright for innovative solutions. Other examples include Chainalysis’s purchase of fraud-detection startup Alterya and xPortal’s acquisition of AI interface developer Alphalink.
