Cotton futures ended Friday with slight weakness, with March up 40 points for the week. Crude oil futures rose $1.02 to $58.78 per barrel. The US dollar index increased to $98.900. USDA data shows upland cotton export commitments down 15% from last year. Managed money net short position reduced to 47,772 contracts.

The Seam’s online auction saw sales at 61.10 cents/lb on 10,864 bales. Cotlook A Index dropped 25 points to 74.80 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks remained steady at 11,510 bales. Adjusted World Price rose to 50.97 cents/lb. Cotton prices closed with Mar 26 at 64.41, May 26 at 65.91, and Jul 26 at 67.31.
