The wheat complex prepared for Monday’s USDA reports, with Chicago SRW futures slightly lower and KC HRW futures steady. MPLS spring wheat saw a small decline. Export sales data updated to January 1 showed wheat export commitments at 20.228 MMT, 18% higher than last year. USDA’s Grain Stocks report is expected to show 1.636 bbu of wheat on hand as of December 1. Managed money increased net short positions in CBT wheat futures, while spec traders reduced net short positions in KC wheat. Closing prices for various wheat futures remained relatively stable.
