Asia is set to lead global acetic acid capacity additions by 2030, driven by domestic demand and investment. China, India, and Indonesia will account for the majority of capacity growth, with China leading at 5.80mtpa. India’s Reliance Industries plans a 3.0mtpa plant, while other projects in China will add 1mtpa each.
The Middle East and Africa are also expected to see acetic acid capacity growth by 2030, with new projects in Iran, Oman, and Egypt. Asia, however, remains the focal point for capacity additions.
