Soybeans saw losses of 7 to 15 ½ cents on Monday, with the national average Cash Bean price dropping 13 1/4 cents to $9.76 1/2. Soymeal futures were down $3.10-5.40, while Soy Oil futures were up 32 to 58 points. Deliveries issued against soybeans totaled 33 on Friday night.

NASS reported a soybean yield of 53 bpa in the Crop Production update, with harvested acreage slightly higher at 80.4 million acres. Production increased by 9 mbu to 4.262 bbu.

December 1 soybean stocks were reported at 3.29 bbu in the Quarterly Grain Stocks data, 190 mbu larger than last year and 40 mbu above analysts’ estimates.

WASDE data took into account production adjustments, with exports adjusted down 60 mbu to 1.575 bbu and crush up 15 mbu to 2.57 bbu. US ending stock numbers rose 60 mbu to 350 mbu.

USDA’s FGIS reported soybean export shipments at 1.529 MMT (56.21 mbu) for the week ending January 8, with China as the top destination. AgRural estimates 0.6% of the Brazilian soybean crop harvested, with USDA raising production to 178 MMT.

Soybean prices closed at $10.33 on Jan 26, with nearby Cash at $9.76 1/2. Mar 26 Soybeans closed at $10.49, and May 26 Soybeans closed at $10.61 3/4.
