CrowdStrike is set to acquire Seraphic Security, a California-based firm specializing in browser runtime security. Seraphic, founded in 2020, offers technology to secure browser access to SaaS and private web applications, eliminating the need for VDI and VPN. The acquisition aims to enhance CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform with browser-native protection.
Seraphic’s technology supports all browsers and key SaaS applications and secured $29m in Series A funding. The acquisition will enable advanced security measures directly within popular browsers like Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox, addressing a significant cybersecurity gap. Seraphic CEO Ilan Yeshua highlighted the importance of browser security in modern work environments.
The addition of Seraphic will empower CrowdStrike’s SOC by enabling analysis of extensive endpoint data alongside real-time browser telemetry. Benefits include securing AI applications, implementing zero trust policies, and preventing data leaks. The integration extends protection to unmanaged devices without requiring endpoint agents.
Financial terms include cash and stocks, with the transaction expected to finalize in CrowdStrike’s first fiscal quarter of 2027. CrowdStrike recently acquired SGNL, a company specializing in continuous identity security solutions, to enhance risk assessments across cloud platforms. CEO George Kurtz emphasized the importance of security without compromising productivity in modern work environments.
CrowdStrike has also partnered with Nord Security to enhance cybersecurity for SMBs by integrating Falcon platform with Nord Security’s technologies. Nord Security will distribute Falcon Go and Falcon Enterprise through its NordLayer platform, with an add-on for Falcon’s Next-Gen SIEM to improve detection capabilities. The partnership aims to provide improved security solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.
