Surface Solutions Group (SSG) is expanding into Costa Rica to focus on high-precision manufacturing for the medical industry. They specialize in coating processes for various medical device components and will invest over $10m in a new facility, creating 15-20 jobs. Construction begins in 2026, with operations starting in 2027.

SSG, part of Elektrisola Group, brings over 60 years of experience in specialized coatings. The investment in Costa Rica aims to enhance the country’s life sciences sector by meeting the demand for advanced technical capabilities and regulatory compliance. SSG President Kevin Hess highlights the strategic decision to be closer to customers and leverage local talent for production.
