Rocket Lab (RKLB) Q4 2023 results: Contract backlog grows

Rocket Lab successfully launched the Baby Come Back mission on July 17, 2023, from New Zealand. The company reported fourth-quarter results with a net loss of $50.5 million, revenue growing 16% to $60 million, and a contract backlog exceeding $1 billion. Rocket Lab’s shares slipped 5% in after-hours trading, with a first-quarter revenue forecast between $92 million and $98 million.

Rocket Lab is making progress on its Neutron rocket development to compete with SpaceX. The company achieved milestones like the beginning of production for the first launch, software simulations, completion of Archimedes engine testing, and upcoming tests for the nose cone. Rocket Lab also expanded its spacecraft lineup with the Lightning, Pioneer, and Explorer models for various missions.
