Tech stocks, including XLK and XSD, dropped around 2.4% while the Philadelphia Semiconductor index fell by 2%. Tesla shares also fell by 4% due to production halt at its German gigafactory after an arson attack on an electricity pylon.

Apple’s iPhone sales in China declined by double digits in 2024, leading to a 2.9% drop in AAPL shares. AMD faced obstacles in selling AI chips to China, resulting in a 0.5% decrease in its shares. Viavi Solutions is set to acquire Spirent Communications in a deal worth $1.28 billion, causing VIAV shares to surge by 13%.
