Corn prices dipped 1 to 2 cents after the long weekend. Futures closed the previous session higher but still down 21 cents for the week. Cash corn price up 6 cents at $3.89 1/2. Managed money increased net short position in corn futures by 65,348 contracts. USDA Export Sales data shows 52.035 MMT of corn commitments, 29% higher than last year. Brazilian corn crop estimates show 1.6% harvested for first crop and 1.1% planted for second crop. Corn prices closed at $4.24 3/4, $3.87 0/1 for nearby cash, $4.32 for May 26, and $4.38 for Jul 26.
