Social media platform X is set to launch a new onboarding feature called “Starterpacks,” allowing new users to instantly follow curated lists of accounts based on specific interests like cryptocurrencies. The tool covers various topics such as news, politics, fashion, technology, and more, with over 1,000 categories already created.

In response to declining engagement in Crypto X, data shared by Bitcoin cypherpunk Jameson Lopp shows a 32% decrease in X posts containing the word “Bitcoin” in 2025. X head of product Nikita Bier teased the Starterpacks tool, emphasizing the importance of niche interests for account growth and engagement on the platform.

Starterpacks are not a new concept, as other social media platforms like Bluesky and Threads have introduced similar features in the past. Bluesky released “Starter Packs” in June 2024, while Threads started testing a similar feature in December 2024. The goal is to make it easier for users to find and engage with content aligned with their interests.

The new Starterpacks feature on social media platform X aims to streamline the onboarding process for new users by offering curated lists of accounts related to specific interests. This tool is designed to help users quickly find and follow accounts that align with their hobbies, preferences, and passions across a wide range of topics.
