Corn futures are holding steady on Tuesday, with nearbys steady to a penny lower and deferreds slightly higher. The national average cash corn price was $3.86. Export inspections data showed corn shipments at 1.484 MMT, down from the previous week. Managed money in corn futures added 65,348 contracts to their net short position.

AgRural estimates the first Brazilian corn crop at 1.6% harvested and the second crop at 1.1% planted. ANEC estimates Brazilian corn exports in January at 3.45 MMT, up 0.18 MMT from last week. Corn prices are at $4.24 for Mar 26, down 3/4 cent, and $3.86 for nearby cash, down 1 cent.
