Corn futures rallied on Friday, gaining 5 to 6 ½ cents across most contracts, with a weekly increase of 5 ¾ cents. The Export Sales report showed strong international demand, pushing the CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price up to $3.93 1/2. USDA reported corn bookings at 4.01 MMT for the week of January 15, the largest since March 2021. Managed money reduced their net short position in corn futures by 450 contracts, with a net short of 81,324 contracts. Corn prices closed higher with Mar 26 Corn at $4.30 1/2, Nearby Cash at $3.93 1/2, May 26 Corn at $4.38, and Jul 26 Corn at $4.43 3/4.
