Tinder will provide more transparency on pricing for premium services to EU users
From Investing.com:
Match Group-owned dating app Tinder has agreed to provide better information about discounted prices for its premium services after EU consumer watchdogs expressed concerns over its pricing practices. The app uses automated means to offer personalised discounts to users, a practice that was not clearly disclosed. Tinder will now inform users about the personalised discounts and why they are being offered.
EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders emphasized the importance of transparency in pricing, stating that personalisation techniques can impact consumers’ purchasing decisions. Tinder spokesperson explained that premium features can help users stand out, with offers, including personalised ones, based on account activity. Consumer bodies will monitor Tinder’s compliance, with possible fines for non-compliance.
