The US Cotton Trust Protocol appoints Marjory Walker and Liz Hershfield to strengthen sustainability efforts in the cotton value chain. Walker will oversee operational aspects, while Hershfield will lead global market development and supply chain activities to ensure member compliance and enhance sustainability efforts.
Walker also serves as vice president of Council Operations at the National Cotton Council, bringing a wealth of experience in operations and communication services. Hershfield, on the other hand, is the Executive Director at Cotton Council International, with over 30 years of experience in fashion industry leadership and sustainability.
The Trust Protocol, a voluntary sustainability programme for US cotton producers, operates as a traceability platform for all US cotton. In its 2024/25 annual report, the organization reported that over 1,500 grower members have made significant progress on key sustainability indicators, meeting or surpassing five of the six national continuous improvement targets.
