Cotton futures saw losses of 40 to 70 points, with March down 211 points for the week. Crude oil futures rose to $63.50 per barrel. US dollar index dropped to $97.650. Spec traders added 6,717 contracts to their net short position, totaling 71,746 contracts net short in cotton futures and options.
Export Sales data shows total export commitments at 7.8 million RB, 12% below last year. Commitments are 68% of the USDA forecast, behind the 86% average. The Cotlook A Index rose 5 points to 73.20 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 27,344 bales.
