Corn futures saw a 4 to 5 cent drop on Friday, with March still up 2 cents for the week. Cash Corn price averaged $3.97 3/4. Export Sales data shows 58.735 MMT in commitments, up 31% from last year. USDA’s WASDE is expected to show no major changes, with an average trade guess of 2.215 bbu.

CFTC data showed reduction in spec net short position in corn futures. StatsCanada data revealed corn stocks at 10.95 MMT as of December 31, down 3.3% from the previous year. Corn prices closed at $4.30 1/4 for Mar 26, $3.97 3/4 for Nearby Cash, $4.38 3/4 for May 26, and $4.45 1/4 for Jul 26.
