Apple Inc. has acquired Canadian artificial intelligence startup
Apple Inc. has acquired Canadian artificial intelligence startup, DarwinAI, earlier this year, as reported by Bloomberg News. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The move is seen as a way for Apple to enhance its AI capabilities, particularly in generative AI technology. Alexander Wong, a key figure in building DarwinAI, has joined Apple as a director in its AI group. DarwinAI is known for its AI technology used in visually inspecting components during the manufacturing process for various industries.
Apple, Microsoft, and Google are all increasingly incorporating generative AI into their products.
