Chipotle’s fourth quarter same-store sales fell 2.5% amid weak customer traffic trends. The company revealed that 60% of its core customers earn over $100,000 annually. Chipotle’s 2026 sales outlook disappointed Wall Street with an expected sales flatline for the year. Cold winter weather has also impacted sales, keeping consumers away.

Chipotle’s stock has declined 30% in the past year compared to McDonald’s 10% gain. To boost sales, Chipotle plans to introduce limited-time offerings such as chicken al pastor and a small grilled chicken bowl for $3.95. The company aims to attract cost-conscious consumers and recover from recent sales declines.
