Paramount Skydance appoints former Trump administration attorney Rene Augustine as senior VP of global public policy amid Warner Bros Discovery takeover battle. Augustine, previously a special assistant to the president, will report to Chief Legal Officer Makan Delrahim. Delrahim praised Augustine’s role in developing strategic policies and diplomatic relationships. Augustine served as deputy assistant attorney general in the antitrust division of the Justice Department. Paramount sweetens bid for Warner Bros with $650 million in extra cash quarterly and agrees to cover $2.8 billion breakup fee owed to Netflix. Netflix offers $27.75 per share in cash for Warner Bros, including HBO Max streaming service.
